Call to Order

The Doddridge County Elementary School Local School Improvement Council (LSIC) meeting was called to order by Dr. Holly Cooper at 3:30 p.m.

Introductions and Election of Officers

Introductions were made, followed by a discussion and election of LSIC officers for the 2026–2027 school year.

President: Caitlain Swiger nominated Emma Boring to serve as President. The nomination was seconded by Cali Hayes. With no additional nominations, the motion passed unanimously.

Vice President: Emma Boring nominated Erin James to serve as Vice President. The nomination was seconded by Caitlain Swiger. With no additional nominations, the motion passed unanimously.

Secretary: Caitlain Swiger nominated Sarah Sowders to serve as Secretary. The nomination was seconded by Emma Boring. With no additional nominations, the motion passed unanimously.

LSIC Introduction

All members in attendance viewed the LSIC introductory video.

Safety Updates

School safety updates were discussed, including Officer Garner’s upcoming lockdown training. Ongoing school safety measures, including code drills and fire drills, were also reviewed.

PBIS Kickoff Day

PBIS Kickoff Day was held on Friday, September 4, 2026. The event included participation from Doddridge County High School athletes and band members. Popcorn was also provided to all students as part of the celebration.

Upcoming Staff Training

Upcoming professional development and training opportunities include Sonday Phonics Training scheduled for:

  • September 10 – Aides

  • September 22 – New professional staff
