Honoring Our Outstanding Mechanics!

Doddridge County Schools proudly recognized Josh Jozwick, Elliott Ackman, and Bruce Kaschner from the Doddridge County Bus Garage for earning First Place in our region for State Inspections!

This achievement marks the fourth time in six years our team has earned a first-place ranking — with the other two years finishing second and third. Their continued excellence ensures that our buses remain safe, reliable, and ready to transport our students each day.

We deeply appreciate their dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to student safety.

Board Recognition Spotlight 💛💚

The Doddridge County Board of Education proudly recognizes our Doddridge FFA Horse Evaluation Team for their outstanding accomplishments! 🐎✨

Earlier this fall, four of our Bulldogs traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts to compete in the Eastern States Exposition Horse Evaluation Career Development Event. The team placed 3rd in the eastern region, with three members finishing in the top nine — a tremendous achievement that reflects their hard work, skill, and dedication! 👏

🏆 Team Members:
Bell Holtz, Zoey Richards, Rogan Smith, and Trey McDonough

Under the direction of instructors Mr. Rabel and Ms. Wean, these students have demonstrated exceptional ability in evaluation, reasoning, and presentation — representing Doddridge County with excellence.

Next up, they’re heading to Columbus, Ohio next week to represent Doddridge County and the State of West Virginia at the National Competition! 🐴

We are incredibly proud of these talented students and wish them the very best as they take their #MissionInMotion to the national stage! 💚💛

🍎🌽 Attendance Matters at Doddridge County Elementary School! 🥔🎃

Today, thanks to a fantastic partnership with our Holistic Child Department/Communities In Schools Team, Route 18 Farmer’s Market, and the Doddridge County Farmer’s Market, students had the exciting opportunity to participate in a special on-site Farmer’s Market — part of our ongoing attendance incentive program.

Because they showed up and were ready to learn on this beautiful day, students received tokens and reusable bags to “shop” for a wide variety of fresh produce — including cabbage, peppers, pumpkins, potatoes, apples, and much more! 🛍️🍏🥬

Our students were thrilled to pick out their own fruits and vegetables and couldn’t wait to take them home to help prepare a healthy family meal. 🥗👩‍🍳

We extend a heartfelt thank you to the Holistic Child Department/Communities In Schools Team, Route 18 Farmer’s Market, and the Doddridge County Farmer’s Market for donating their time and resources to help promote healthy habits and the importance of school attendance.

📅 September is Attendance Awareness Month! 💼✏️

Did you know that students who miss 9 or fewer days in a 180-day school year are significantly more likely to stay on track academically and graduate on time?

📉 Missing just 2 days a month—even if excused—can lead to learning gaps, lower grades, and decreased engagement.

✅ Helpful tips for families to support strong attendance:
• Set a consistent bedtime and morning routine to make mornings smoother.
• Schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
• Keep communication open with teachers and the school if your child is struggling.
• Make school a priority—help your child understand that showing up matters.
• Plan vacations or trips during school breaks to avoid missed days.

Let’s work together to build strong attendance habits and support every child’s path to success—because every day counts!
