This weekend, our high school drone team competed in the and represented our school with outstanding effort and determination!
While our Teamwork Challenge finished 39th out of 60 teams, our Autonomous and Pilot Challenge events placed the team in the top third of the competition — an impressive accomplishment against some very stiff competition from across the region. Throughout the weekend, the team showed excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance while continuing to improve with every round.
Congratulations to Titus Haggard, Rylan Richmond, Kayleigh Pullman, Wesley Kashner, and Dmitri Brown for an incredible performance and for representing our school so well. We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship this team displayed all weekend long!

📢 Parent Update: Digital Safety Instruction (Grades 3–12)
The State of West Virginia has implemented Senate Bill 466, which requires all public schools to provide annual digital safety instruction for students in grades 3–12.
As part of this statewide requirement, Doddridge County Schools is preparing to launch this training near the end of April, while providing time for families to review the materials in advance. This approach is intended to give parents and guardians the opportunity to explore the content, ask questions, and make informed decisions for their child.
💻 What this means for families:
• Digital safety instruction is required by state law for all students in grades 3–12
• The State of West Virginia has identified CyberSWAT (Safety While Accessing Technology) as the platform to meet this requirement
• Families are encouraged to review the materials by clicking the link below and exploring the available parent resources
Parents who wish to do so may opt their child out of the CyberSWAT platform by completing and submitting the form by April 22nd. Students who opt out will complete an alternative digital safety lesson through Learning.com to meet state requirements.
The intent of this training is to equip students with the skills needed to safely and responsibly navigate today’s digital world.
Our goal is to partner with families, provide clear information, and respect parent choice while meeting state requirements.
If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact the Central Office at 304-873-2300.
