Today, Mrs. Modesittโ€™s Pierpont History 1102 class hosted the โ€œMeeting of the Mindsโ€ banquet. These students researched and wrote 3 page papers on different people associated with the Civil War. They transformed into their character for the banquet. We have the Union leaders and spies, and Confederate leaders and spies sitting across from each other trying to reconstruct this great nation after the war. We know many didnโ€™t make it to the end of the war but it was fun to infer.

Mrs. Modesitt always enjoys watching her students bring history to life at the banquet through lively discussion and reflection.

๐Ÿง  Mega Brain is Coming to Doddridge County High School! ๐Ÿง

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, DCHS students will have a unique and exciting opportunity to explore the Mega Brain inflatable exhibit during their science, PE, and health classes!

The Mega Brain is a large, walk-through inflatable model that gives students an up-close, interactive look inside the human brain. Through this hands-on experience, students will:

โœจ Explore the structure and functions of different parts of the brain
โœจ Learn how the brain impacts movement, emotions, and decision-making
โœจ Discuss ways to support brain health and safety

This engaging event supports our health and science curriculum and encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and appreciation for the amazing complexity of the human body.

A special thank you to West Virginia Prevention Solutions for making this exciting learning opportunity available to our students! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

Weโ€™re looking forward to an inspiring and educational day for our Bulldogs!
