๐Ÿ“ข Tomorrowโ€™s the Day!

Weโ€™re excited to welcome Building Hope โ€“ Be the Difference to Doddridge County High School on October 29, 2025, for our freshman class! ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

Since 2017, our students have taken part in this powerful program created by Mark Urso, a proud West Virginia native. Building Hope focuses on empathy, compassion, and understandingโ€”while also introducing students to exciting career opportunities in construction and the natural gas industries.

Based on curriculum from Changepoint Learning, the program helps students break down barriers, support one another, and build a stronger school community.

We canโ€™t wait to continue this tradition and inspire our students to make a difference. ๐Ÿ’ช

Honoring Our Outstanding Mechanics!

Doddridge County Schools proudly recognized Josh Jozwick, Elliott Ackman, and Bruce Kaschner from the Doddridge County Bus Garage for earning First Place in our region for State Inspections!

This achievement marks the fourth time in six years our team has earned a first-place ranking โ€” with the other two years finishing second and third. Their continued excellence ensures that our buses remain safe, reliable, and ready to transport our students each day.

In a heartwarming demonstration of community spirit, Mrs. Y-S, Mrs. Kristen, Mrs. Sarah and Mrs Kellyโ€™s class recently participated in National Coffee with a Cop Day by hosting a special event to honor local law enforcement. The students and their teacher extended a warm invitation to members of the county sheriffโ€™s office and the state police department, providing them with coffee and pastries as a token of appreciation for their service.
National Coffee with a Cop is a nationwide initiative designed to foster positive conversations between police officers and the communities they serve. By sharing a simple cup of coffee, barriers are broken down, trust is built, and mutual understanding encourages safer, more inclusive neighborhoods. The class embraced this opportunity not only to show gratitude but also to learn firsthand about the important role police officers play in everyday life.
The event was thoughtfully organized, with students offering freshly brewed coffee and a variety of pastries, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The officers expressed their gratitude for the gesture, emphasizing how such engagements strengthen community bonds and humanize the often challenging work they perform. Meanwhile, students gained valuable insight into law enforcement, discovering that officers are approachable individuals dedicated to public safety.
This simple yet powerful interaction offers a reminder that meaningful connections between citizens and law enforcement begin with open dialogue and hospitality. The class demonstrated that even a modest actโ€”like providing coffee and pastriesโ€”can create a foundation for mutual respect and understanding. As National Coffee with a Cop continues to grow in popularity, such initiatives pave the way for stronger, more empathetic communities where everyone feels heard and valued.
