Attendance Matters; Bulldogs In The Building Did you know? Students who miss 2 days per month are considered chronically absent. Students who are chronically absent have higher risks of falling behind academically. We value your student being present at school and having the best chance possible of learning and growing academically. To date in our County; 45% of all students have missed less than 4 days of school since the first day of school. That is missing 5% or fewer school days since August 14, 2024. Here is the breakdown of each school and the % of students that have missed less than 4 days of school to date: Early Learning Academy: 59% Elementary School: 40% Middle School: 35% High School: 52% #9orLessForSuccess #BulldogsInTheBuilding

Happy New Year Bulldog
As the new year approaches, many of us reflect on the changes we'd like to make in our lives. For parents, this often includes resolutions to become better at handling the challenges of raising children. Parenting is no easy task, and seeking support or guidance can make a world of difference. That's why our partnership with ParentGuidance.org is so valuable. This platform provides parents, guardians, and staff with access to expert coaching, where you can learn effective strategies, gain useful tips, and find support during times when it feels especially hard. Here are a few tips that might help as you approach the new year: 1. Set realistic expectations: Parenting is not about perfection, but about progress. Set small, achievable goals for yourself and your family, and celebrate those wins. 2. Be consistent with routines: Consistency can help children feel more secure. Establishing daily routines for things like meals, chores, and bedtime can provide a sense of stability. 3. Embrace open communication: Engage in regular conversations with your children, even when they seem disinterested. It helps build a strong bond and ensures they feel heard. 4. Practice self-care: You can't pour from an empty cup. Make time for yourself, whether it’s through physical activity, hobbies, or simply taking a break to recharge. 5. Seek professional support when needed: Coaches or counselors at ParentGuidance.org can offer invaluable advice and lend a listening ear when you're feeling overwhelmed or need guidance on specific challenges. This year, remember that you don’t have to navigate parenting alone. There are resources available to support you every step of the way!

Christmas Bulldog
We had a visitor to our school Thursday! The Grinch. Just look at the kiddos faces as they got to see a real-life star from one of their favorite holiday books and movies come to life at Doddridge County Early Learning Academy. The Grinch answered several questions, gave out candy canes and hugs. One of the favorite questions from our students was we thought you didn’t like kids? To that the Grinch replied “Remember my heart grew 3 sizes that day and its growing even more because I get to spend time with you today!” You never know who will show up at DCELA, another great reason to be at school each day! #BulldogsInTheBuilding
