Good Evening,
The Doddridge County Board of Education is committed to the safety of all students and staff members. As many are aware, there has been a statewide and nationwide circulation of school threats via various forms of social media. At this point, Doddridge County has no credible evidence as it relates to these threats associated with our schools, we will continue to monitor the situation in collaboration with the Doddridge County Sheriff's Office, WV State Police, Homeland Security and the Fusion Center. We would like to thank our local law enforcement agencies for keeping our schools safe and secure.
Scott Cochran
Superintendent
Doddridge County Schools
Governor Jim Justice released the following:

You're invited to attend a Community Resource Vendor Night on 9/20/24 prior to the home football game from 5 pm to 7 pm at Cline Stansberry Stadium. (Located behind the home bleachers). Please come out and meet local resources within our community that can provide supports as needed.

This Friday, September 13th, the DCES PTO is sponsoring a Hat Day! Students wanting to participate can bring $1 to wear their favorite hat!
All proceeds will benefit DCES PTO student programs throughout the school year!

The Doddridge County Board of Education, along with Superintendent Cochran, extends its continued thoughts and prayers to the student injured in yesterday’s motor vehicle accident. We ask that our students and community unite in prayer, offering strength and support for our fellow Bulldog and their family members.

Congratulations to our DCES Little Dogs of the Week: Kylie Ventura, Kennedy Dabbs, Bryce Herndon, Sadie Davis, Peyton Kelley, and Skylar McMillan.
Keep up the good work! We are proud of you!

It's gameday in Doddridge County and DCES students came ready to cheer on the Bulldogs!! DCES students held their PBIS Kickoff in exciting fashion today! Students worked in groups this week to create a class banner to display at the days festivities. Students then welcomed members from the high school football team, cheerleading squad, and the band. Some DCES staff then participated in a masked singer competition.
To cap off the celebration, students were treated to snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, bulldog tattoos, and time to play on the playground with friends.
DCES would like to give a huge shoutout to the many community and parent volunteers who graciously donated their time and resources to ensure students had fun. We appreciate the support of our local 7/11 who donated ice for the snow cones. Additionally, we would like to thank the high school and their students for coming to meet our students. Lastly, we would like to give a shoutout to Doddridge County Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Scott Cochran, who performed 'Country Roads' beautifully as a unicorn in the masked singer performance.
Good Luck, Bulldogs!

Doddridge County students Olivia See, Trinity Richards, Myles Jett, and Steven McCloy presented the Superintendents Challenge Coin for their outstanding display of Character and Commitment toward the #unitedtomakeadifference mission.

Third Judicial Circuit Judge Tim Sweeney issued a preliminary injunction earlier today which granted Doddridge County High School’s request to compete in the Single A classification for football for the 2024 season.
Judge Sweeney’s Order does not change the classification of any other school. The Order is specifically limited to Doddridge County High School and is preliminary in nature.
Doddridge County Schools Superintendent Scott Cochran said, “Judge Sweeney’s order today reflects what we have been arguing for months. Doddridge County High School should be classified with those schools that are similar in size, located in our region, and which we have a history of competition that goes back many decades. Today’s order restores competitive balance, provides for player safety, and will ensure that our natural rivals remain on our schedule in future years. I wish to thank Judge Sweeney for acting on our request prior to the start of the football season.”
We are pleased to introduce our first group of Little Dogs of the Week: Alexis Eddy, Brycen Dillon, Carleighe Arthur, Camden Harper, Ellie Robinson, and Hailey Cox
We are incredibly proud of each one of them. Congratulations, well done, and keep up the great work!
